TherapyNotes is the long-standing behavioral-health default with genuinely excellent note templates and built-in ePrescribe, and its AI note drafting and premium telehealth are separate per-clinician add-ons.

Stay with TherapyNotes if any of this is you
Switching an EHR is disruptive and nobody does it for fun. These are the cases where we would tell you to stay put, and we would say the same thing on a call.
- You prescribe, especially controlled substances. TherapyNotes has built-in EPCS through DrFirst; Harbor has no prescribing at all.
- Your documentation workflow is built around their note templates. They are the best in the category and switching costs you real muscle memory.
- You value a long track record above everything else. TherapyNotes has been stable in behavioral health far longer than Harbor has existed.
- You are self-pay only, in which case most of Harbor’s billing machinery is not for you.

Confirm these workflow requirements before switching:

- Credentialing. Harbor does not credential providers. You bring your panels.
- Native mobile apps. The web app is fully mobile-responsive; native patient portal apps have store listings; the clinician workspace runs on the web.
- Support model. Email and scheduled calls during business hours, with on-call escalation for critical issues.
- Referrals. Harbor does not supply patients. Your relationships stay yours.

- Does Harbor have ePrescribe like TherapyNotes?
- Harbor does not provide e-prescribing. TherapyNotes offers ePrescribe with EPCS; practices using Harbor need a separate prescribing solution.
- Are Harbor’s notes as good as TherapyNotes’ templates?
- TherapyNotes’ templates are more refined; they have had many more years and many more clinicians shaping them. Harbor drafts notes with AI from the session and the chart, and a clinician edits and signs. Different approach, and honestly a different strength.
- Does an AI listen to my therapy sessions?
- Not in Harbor. Nothing records or listens to a session. Harbor drafts from what the clinician documents and from what is already in the chart, and every draft is edited and signed by a human before it is anything.
